Volunteers Required

  • To assist in The Cathedral Shop x2
  • To assist in The Cathedral Coffee Shop x2
  • To become a Welcomer in the Cathedral  x2
  • To become a Heritage Tour Guide at Wakefield Cathedral and Wakefield Chantry Chapel x2
  • To assist with Messy Cathedral (Craft activities for Families), Messy Church (Fun activities for children) and Youth Club (social group for young teens) x 4

Initial and ongoing training will be provided for all volunteers and you will be working alongside experienced volunteers within the friendly, supportive environment that is Wakefield Cathedral. Our team rotas are in two hour slots between 10am and 4pm each weekday and from 9.30am-3.30pm Saturday.

Skills required

  • A willingness to work alongside existing volunteers
  •  A willingness to attend training sessions
  • Being reliable and honest
  • Being approachable and friendly
  • An interest in Heritage/Stained Glass/Architecture/History
  • Counselling Skills helpful but not essential
  • Liking people

It is important that you support the Christian ethos of Wakefield Cathedral but you do not need to be a practising Christian. We embrace diversity and look forward to hearing from you.
