The Wakefield College Annual Apprenticeship Awards are aimed at acknowledging and celebrating apprentice’s exceptional contribution to their workplace, and employers who showcase their commitments, contribution and success that apprenticeships have brought to their organisation.
This year we have categories that recognise all groups of apprentices and apprenticeship employers. We kindly request that apprentices, employers and college staff submit a nomination to help celebrate those who embody the apprenticeship programme:
- Automotive & Engineering Apprentice of the Year 2019
- Construction Apprentice of the Year 2019
- Health & Care Apprentice of the Year 2019
- Business & Professional Apprentice of the Year 2019
- Apprentice of the Year 2019 for the following categories – Sports, Logistics, Horticulture, Hair & Beauty and Animal Care.
- HE Apprentice of the Year 2019
- Wakefield College Apprentice of the Year 2019 Sponsored by Wakefield College
- New Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2019 Sponsored by Business Development Team
- Non-levy Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2019
- Levy Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2019
Who can apply
Anyone who is currently enrolled or an Employer supporting an apprentice, who is on an apprenticeship programme as a Wakefield College Apprentice prior to 1st August 2018. We will also accept those apprentices who have completed an apprenticeship with us in the last academic year.
The nomination process
- Nomination are open between 5th November 9.00am - 30th November 4.00pm.
- No further nominations will be accepted once the nominations are closed.
- All nominations are shortlisted anonymously by Wakefield College’s Principal.
- The final three finalists for each category will be notified by Friday 21st December 2018.
- Three finalists per award category will be invited to attend our Awards Ceremony on Monday 4th March 2019 (venue to be confirmed)
- Finalists will be joined by our award sponsors, Mayor of Wakefield, Principal and member(s) of Wakefield College Executive Team and Governing Body.
