Dear Wakefield College students,

Please be aware that the College has recently had a number of complaints from local residents within the proximity of the Wakefield City Campus.  These complaints relate to concerns regarding students parking on their private property and blocking in local residents – specifically on the Strata development near Westgate train station.  Residents shared concerns are that this improper parking is causing driveways to be blocked, waste bins not to be emptied and grass verges not to be cut.

Please can we remind you all that you are not permitted to park on any private property in/around the College vicinity when attending College.  If your chosen method of transport to/from College is a car then please can you ensure to park it in an appropriate location that avoids causing such disruption to residents and that you pay an appropriate parking fee (if applicable).

Local residents are now at a point when they will be calling the Police and contacting the local Council on each occasion this concern arises.  Please can you take heed of this warning and ensure to avoid parking on such private property in future to help ensure that you are not liable for further action being taken against you be these authorities.
