The following message will be sent to students today and posted on the website and our social media channels. Please do share this with your students and copy into your Teams chats with them. Worth reminding them they'll need to have their College ID badges with them when they come in.

As a College we're supporting the national effort to reduce the spread of Coronavirus and are working on a phased approach to Lateral Flow Testing of all students.  Students will be offered three onsite tests; the first one will be ahead of a return to face-to-face teaching. Although the test is voluntary, by taking a test it will help to stop the virus spread and ensure face-to-face learning returns as soon as possible.

For most students testing will begin week commencing 8th March, with the aim of completing all tests before Easter.  We aim to notify you of your first test no later than 17th March.

You will be contacted directly, by text message and on your student email with your first test appointment and will be notified 2 days ahead of the test.  We would encourage you to have a test to support the national efforts.

When attending the appointment, you will come to a registration desk and then be directed to the testing centre, where you will carry out a swab of your nose and throat yourself.

More information about the test itself can be found

The tests are by appointment only and students should not go directly to the Test Centre but should report to the registration desk when invited in. The whole process will take no longer than half an hour and you will then be able to return home and return to your classes online until face-to-face teaching is resumed for your group.

Anyone who tests positive will be notified and is required by law to self-isolate in line with Government Guidance.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of testing that the College is undertaking we are unable to schedule alternative appointments if you are unable to attend the appointment offered to you, you don’t need to contact us as you will be offered another appointment in due course.

Please look for future communications from College where we aim to set out additional plans for future testing'

We would like to thank students, their parents and carers and our staff for all their support and co-operation during these difficult and rapidly changing times.
