In June this year, we wrote to all College stakeholders - students, apprentices, employers, partners and staff, to inform everyone of the plans for Selby College and Wakefield College to merge in 2022.

We are delighted to report that we have made excellent progress in taking this forward and our intended merger date is now 1st March 2022.

To ensure that the views of those with an interest are received and considered, we are undertaking a statutory consultation as part of the merger process and we would like to hear your views.  The consultation is running from Thursday 21st October to Monday 22nd November 2021, closing at 5.00pm.

We have created a dedicated microsite, which includes a consultation document and statutory notice that sets out our vision and the aims of the merger - Stronger Together - Working together, stronger together (stronger-together.org.uk).  We would be grateful if you would take the time to read it.

There is also a brief questionnaire which will enable you to share your views - Stronger Together - How to have your say (stronger-together.org.uk).

Finally, should you have any questions, we have included some Frequently Asked Questions on the microsite.  Alternatively, if you would like to email us directly, or would like to receive a hard copy of the consultation document, please contact us via merger@wakefield.ac.uk or merger@selby.ac.uk.

We hope you are supportive of our plans and would appreciate your feedback during the consultation process.

With best wishes.
