You will have heard in the media that the Government has announced a further easing of Covid restrictions. As a result, the DfE have advised us that from today, Thursday 20 January, face coverings are no longer recommended in classrooms and teaching spaces for staff or students, except where local public health teams advise otherwise. They also announced, that from Thursday 27 January, face coverings are no longer recommended in communal areas for staff or students.

We must stress we are not out of the pandemic yet and rates, although falling, are still high. It is now widely acknowledged that face coverings do reduce the risk of infection. We will continue to encourage the use of face coverings, especially where social distance cannot be maintained, although this is no longer mandated.

Thanks
