2 Work Placement Vacancies

for aspiring assistant teachers and support tutors

The Opportunity Centre College is offering 2 work placement opportunities for students, working at their training centre in Wakefield.

The role is split between reception and shadowing as teacher support in classes. The ages of students on the courses you will be supporting are 16 – 17 years old.

Each successful candidate will be required to work on separate days from each other. You will need to ensure you are not in class on the placement day.

The ideal candidates must be willing to develop the following:

  • Customer Service Skills
  • Using the telephone
  • Taking notes/ messages
  • Greeting new and current students, employers
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Creativity
  • Administration of course materials
  • Undertaking tasks as requested
  • Listening skills
  • Confidence supporting the tutor in a classroom environment
  • Understanding the needs of others
  • Willingness to undertake an induction
