Wakefield College are the double Rugby League National Champions.

Earlier on in the season they claimed the National Premier League title and this was topped off last night by beating Furness College 34-16 in the National Cup.

In a hard fought game Barrow started off the better team taking a 12-2 lead but Wakefields class, skill and strength came through as they dominated the final hour. Consecutive tries and an incredible defense saw the Wakey boys run out 34-12 winners and claim the national double for the first time ever.

Shout out to Owen Hughes who won man of the match and to Nathan Newbound and Stephen Gibbs who suffered injuries in the game. Best of luck and get better soon.

Lets celebrate this great achievement and hope its the beginning of something huge for Wakefield College.
