What is a near miss? It simply means something that almost had the potential to cause injury or damage to people, environment, machinery or plant.

How to help prevent near misses and their potential to become an accident/injury?

Report when they happen and trends will appear, things that happen more regularly tend to be as a result of poor working practices or a common fault with surroundings. Once these are identified they can be addressed.
