Students, please be aware that there is a planned test of our College security system, at Castleford and Wakefield campuses on Thursday 28th February, 2019 - this should not be mistaken as a fire drill.

The test is routine; similar to regular testing of the fire alarm system, and is carried out to ensure that people are able to respond quickly, and be as safe as possible, during any situation that may arise.

The system has a range of audible alerts, during the test on the 28th February the alert will state, “This is a test of the lockdown security system. You do not need to take any action.”

You and your parent/carer should have already received a letter about this testing, and as per the detail in the letter we’ll be asking for feedback following the test to ensure the system is as effective as it can be.

During the test, staff wearing blue tabards will be monitoring each campus and will be on hand to offer assistance if required.

Safety of you our students and our staff is of paramount importance and we’d like to reassure you that tests such as this are essential to ensure our systems are as effective as possible.
