There will be a planned test of our College security system, at Castleford and Wakefield campuses on Thursday 27th February, 2020.

The test is routine; similar to regular testing of the fire alarm system, and is carried out to ensure that people are able to respond quickly, and be as safe as possible, during any situation that may arise.

The system has an audible alert which is used to deliver a range of messages. The test on the 27th February will state, “This is a test of the lockdown security system. You do not need to take any action”.

The test on Thursday is also an opportunity for students to watch the Run, Hide, Tell video on YouTube . The video can be found here:

During the test, staff wearing blue tabards will be monitoring each campus and will be on hand to offer assistance if required. We’ll be asking for feedback following the test to ensure the system is as effective as it can be, so do please complete the survey when it comes round.

The safety of our students and staff is of paramount importance and we’d like to reassure you that tests such as this are essential to ensure our systems are as effective as possible.

Thanks for your co-operation.
