Updated Display for Travel Centres

updated display Metro

You will be able to see how full the next bus is at hundreds of stops across West Yorkshire following an upgrade to information displays.

Bus passengers using Arriva, First and Transdev services will now be able to know the capacity of their service before it arrives as over 1,750 of West Yorkshires real-time display screens have been enhanced to show how full buses are before they arrive.

With social distancing measures in place on all buses, there are fewer seats available than normal and the upgrade is designed to help keep you informed about capacity on services. The three seat indicator will help you know whether there are plenty of seats, limited seats or whether the bus is full.

'Fare Deal for Young People'

Fare deal for young people Metro

A ‘Fare Deal for Young People’ to ensure bus travel is as affordable as possible for under-19s has been developed by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the West Yorkshire Bus Alliance.

The scheme aims to make bus travel more affordable for under 19s and it is hoped that it will encourage more young people to travel by bus as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Travel Safely

If you do need to travel on public transport, then please help protect yourself and others by following these safety guidelines:

• Wear a face covering unless exempt and carry hand sanitiser

 • Maintain social distancing

 • Pay using contactless or mobile apps

 • Wash hands before and after travelling

If you are exempt from wearing a face covering then you can download an assistance card to help communicate this to staff on bus and rail services.
